On violin day, December 13, a family from China gave us a special surprise. They traveled to our beautiful Bosnia and Herzegovina with the desire to visit our Atelier Avdić in the hope of finding the right violin for their 13-year-old son. They read a lot about the quality of Bosnian violins and also about the best quality Bosnian maple to create a violin that gives the best sound. They say they found our website and our Instagram page and decided to visit us in person. When they came to our studio, they were surprised by the offer of quality Bosnian maple, the selection of violins and our work. Young violinist Xiaoqin Kong was eagerly waiting to try one of our violins. At that moment we had two violins that were ready for a new violinist. After the setup, he played a couple of compositions on one and the other. As usual, it took a couple of hours for the young violinist to feel which violin was perfect for him. His parents were surprised to see his satisfaction when, after playing Vivaldi, he said “Yes”, and began to look at the violin from all sides, holding it tightly and tenderly at the same time. I immediately remembered my violins, which today are played all over Europe, but I did not believe that another one would be played in distant China. Very quickly, the violin ended up in the suitcase of the young Violinist, a future virtuoso from China, and we enjoyed the rest of the day with afternoon Bosnian coffee with the Xiaoqin family..
